Once, during a terrible drought, when every living thing suffered a terrible thirst, a crow flew far and wide in search of something to drink. Spying a pitcher on the ground, he landed and discovered a little water inside. He was overjoyed until he realized that there his beak was too short to reach what was inside.
The parched crow was ready to give up when he noticed a
pile of pebbles. One by one, he dropped the little stones into
the pitcher until the water was within his reach. The crow drank deeply and his life was saved.
